Paris Masters: the schedule before the first serve

· BehindLines newsroom

Paris is preparing for its last major tennis event of the regular season. On 29 October, the organisers of the Rolex Paris Masters set out a programme that begins with qualifying on 31 October. Britain's tennis federation, the LTA, confirms that the final is scheduled for 8 November at this year's last Masters 1000 event.

From the calendar to the first matches

Qualifying matches are scheduled for 31 October and 1 November, before main draw play begins on Monday 2 November. For that opening Monday, the organisers have announced both a daytime session and an evening session on centre court.

The programme published on 29 October announced the draw ceremony for 30 October at 18:30. The draws and daily order of play will then set out when each player is scheduled to compete. The official programme continues to be presented as provisional.

According to the LTA, Arthur Fery and Cam Norrie both have direct entry. The federation says Fery is due to make his first appearance at this venue, following his run to the Wimbledon semi-finals and his first ATP final at Winston-Salem.

Wheelchair tennis joins the programme

The LTA has also announced a WC500 wheelchair tennis competition running from 6 to 8 November. It says Alfie Hewett will return as the defending wheelchair singles champion, alongside his doubles partner Gordon Reid.

The organisers' schedule places the men's singles quarter-finals on 6 November, followed by the semi-finals the next day. The singles final, doubles final and wheelchair singles final are all scheduled for 8 November.

Several competitions will therefore share this final Paris week. The overall programme sets out the tournament's stages, while the daily order of play will specify each player's matches. The announced entry lists alone are not a guarantee that every listed player will actually take to the court.
