Valencia prepares for its half marathon on 25 October

· BehindLines newsroom

One race, several starts: the Valencia Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, 25 October 2026. The organiser's regulations assign this 35th edition to the Correcaminos sports association, with institutional support from the city council. They describe an urban road race over 21.0975 kilometres.

The programme separates runners into waves according to the performances they have substantiated. The first is scheduled for 8:25 a.m. local time, with subsequent starts continuing until 9:27 a.m. The starting time is therefore different across the field. The organisers say each participant receives their wave by email and can also find it on their race bib.

This arrangement also matters when interpreting images of the race. A group still waiting to start does not necessarily mean the entire event has been delayed. What is described here is the announced plan, rather than an observation of how Sunday actually unfolds. No finishing order can yet be inferred from this timetable.

The SuperHalfs circuit also lists Valencia on 25 October and presents it as the final event on its calendar. The race therefore belongs to a series connecting several events over the same distance. This membership places it beyond the local programme alone, without predicting a record or any athlete's performance.

Preparations also involve the city. On its page displaying the date 24 October, Radio Valencia describes municipal arrangements for traffic and access around the race. It places the start and finish in the Avenida de los Naranjos area. These measures form an organisational plan, rather than an observation of traffic conditions on the 25th.

This preview distinguishes the distance, calendar and successive starts. The regulations explain the sporting framework, SuperHalfs places Valencia within its circuit, and the local report outlines urban preparations. The result will have to be established after the race.
