BehindLines

Editorial and AI policy

BehindLines publishes international news in five languages (French, English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese). This page explains plainly how the articles are produced.

Our rules

How artificial intelligence is involved

We use artificial-intelligence tools to write the articles from the sources we collect, to translate them into our five languages and to review them: one tool writes, another checks every fact against the cited sources. Automated checks then enforce the charter (sources, excluded topics, anti-copy, duplicates) before anything is published.

To be clear: review is not systematically carried out by a human. A human, Vasuo Studio, sets the rules, decides on sensitive topics, answers reports and takes responsibility for what is published; they have not read every article before it went online. Every page carries the notice "written with the help of AI". If an error gets through despite these checks, our corrections policy applies.

Images are royalty-free or generated, and their licence is stated. We never generate the face of a real person.

When in doubt, we do not publish

An article whose facts are not sufficiently established stays a draft. Any article can be unpublished immediately, and every publication is logged.
